Y'know, that Bill Murray movie, What About Bob?, where he is always bugging Richard Dreyfuss' character about their book, "Baby Steps"? It's kinda like that.
So, after I spent some time reviewing the prototype built by batchprogram, we decided the best place for me to start is at the beginning. Since I was having trouble with the game logic aspect during my test projects, it would be best to start with something that requires little to no coding, yet familiarizes me with how a game actually functions.
This evening's developer debriefing session was a big success. batchprogram had a fully functional prototype built in their Reaper Game Engine in under forty-eight hours. Bravo, my friend.
Yet again, a new Pong Kombat development is underway. For the first time, I will be writing these blogs from a team standpoint instead of an individual. I blasted the many forums--GameDev.net, App Hub, DevMaster, etc.--reaching out to anyone interested in providing some form of assistance on the project.
[Originally posted on PongKombat.com] Hey, fans (and passer-bys)! I feel compelled to write an introductory post detailing why this site exists and why there is no game to play.
The Twitter profile design was updated this evening, reflecting the look of the website. The customization features in Twitter are quite limited, but it is enough to come up with something nice.
Hell yeah, it has. I'm giving up going solo on this project, and I just need to contribute what I'm capable of. Hopefully, I can band together a group of misfits (or just people looking for a portfolio project) that can help with the areas that I can't do on my own.
Two games you would never think would go together…the acclaimed franchise that revolutionized the fighting genre and introduced us to video-game violence, and Nolan Bushnell's black-and-white game from ancient times, when dinosaurs roamed the Earth (1972).
My plan of attack on this project is to work my way through the flow of the game and basically just knock them out in sequence, if possible. I don't know if that is the best method, but that is how I am going to start off.
So, today I decided to head on over to GoDaddy® and see if the domain was available, and to my surprise, it was.
