Well, I’ve started my position at Vectorform as an Interactive Developer. I have been tasked to create five-to-six HTML5 canvas-based games as my first project! Needless to say, I am stoked about that. Even though progress has slowed slightly on the Pong Kombat project, it is for the better.
I created a prototype of a new game for work, utilizing some of the work I’ve done with Pong Kombat. It enabled me to hit the ground running at my new organization. I quickly realized how clunky and cumbersome my engine had been. So, I have been tweaking and refining my canvas-based engine — a light-weight one and that doesn’t require the use of third-party sources. Within one week, I’ve been completely re-thought how I animate objects (using vectors) and built in an animated sprite sheet object.
I think that I’ll be able to use this updated engine with Pong Kombat to make things a little easier to code, but I’ve come a long way so far.
